A couple times a year my family road-trips up to Eagleville, Northern California for some snow fun in the country. We drink hot toddies, sled, do crafts, and snuggle up to our favorite Christmas movies like Little Women, Elf and The Holiday. I’m rounding up my favorite items to keep warm and snugly on these snow trips.

Teddy coats are a must for me. Like a wearable blanket I basically live in these during the colder seasons. This one is by Free People for $168. Here is another one for $80 from ASOS and this one for $199 by Something Navy from Nordstrom. I also LOVE this sherpa pullover from Anthro for $98.
A large thermos with built-in cup is a snow trip essential and this Stanley one is a classic and affordable at $34.97 for the large size. We fill these suckers up with Hot Toddy’s to keep us warm while we break from sledding. My Hot Toddy Recipe (for a single, large mug) is: 2 shots Jameson whiskey, 1 whole lemon, 1 tablespoon honey, fill the rest up with hot water. For larger mugs like these I always just eyeball it and make it to taste (promise you though if you “accidently” make them extra strong no one will complain after a freezing day of sledding).
I adore these hand-knit alpaca socks from Etsy for $35. If that’s too much of a splurge for socks here’s a 4-pack I ordered for my trip from Amazon for $19.99 and this pair by Barefoot Dreams for $15 is also SO soft and warm.
Cozy slippers are another must (gotta keep those toesies warm!). This is my favorite pair BY FAR and I’ll tell you why. They are sustainably hand-made in Cornwall, Britain with 100% British Shearling that is a by-product of the British farming food industry. They are even machine washable with their Celtic Wool Wash soap.
When we aren’t sledding and making snow angels we’re usually huddled up in the den in front of the fire watching movies and doing puzzles. A cozy loungewear set is perfect for these mellow family evenings. I love this set by TopShop – click here for the top ($40) and here for the bottoms ($40). I also love this gorgeous green set The Great from Nordstrom – click here for the top ($85) and here for the bottoms ($115).

ABOUT ME

I'm Hannah, a London-born, California girl and mama of two, Henry (7) and Vivienne (4). Despite the chaos I think they're most amazing little humans in the world (they're also the reason I love wine so much!). My husband, Wiley, is my soul mate and the lead singer of the band Chevy Metal. My life is all about keeping the kids happy, the house tidy, and myself looking and feeling good. I'm starting this blog as a visual diary of my life and the things I love – family, food, fashion and travel. Recently we have relocated to Northern California to a tiny town of 50 people called Eagleville to live out our country living, homeschool fantasy together as a family.
