First off, Happy New Year! What a year 2017 was for me. We went on so many fun trips this year – Eagleville, Avalon, Laguna Beach. Henry started preschool and Vivienne upgraded to a big girl bed. I started the blog in March and it has been an unexpected and exciting project for me – one that I really poured myself into this year. I do however, in all honesty, feel like I let my health and self-care fall to the wayside a bit and it’s something that I want to work on as my “resolution” this year.
Though I have always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with resolutions I usually end up making and attempting to practice them anyways. This year I am going to make mine fairly attainable so that I have a better chance of sticking to it.
- Meal Prep – I want to start doing a Sunday cook day where I make a ton of food for lunches for the week. When the kids are being crazy and work is pouring in it’s all too easy for me to eat processed, ready-made crap so having a meal that is ready to pop in the toaster oven will keep me on the healthy eating track (I don’t ever diet. Never could. But I do believe in eating more fresh, in season, wholesome food locally bought and less pre-packaged things).
- Take my vitamins! Wiley and I have already gotten a head start on this by purchasing a ton of our favorite vitamins and two am/pm pill organizers to make it as easy as possible to take our vitamins every day.
- Drink more water! I’m going to break out my Swell Bottle (25oz) and start drinking 3-4 of them a day.
- Establish a consistent beauty routine. My current beauty routine is all over the place so this year I really want to start finding my favorite (cruelty-free) products.
That’s it! Even though that doesn’t seem too difficult it’s the consistency that will be hard for me and is what I am going to really try to get better at this year. Any easy, vegetarian meal prep ideas are welcome! Please send some my way! Going to need some good ones for this Sunday.
I also decided to gift myself some “me” products to arrive in time for the New Year so I can get started. See below for my beauty and wellness picks to start the New Year with some pampering and self-care.
