I am seriously struggling with this Los Angeles heat wave at the end of October! All I want to do is be snuggled up on the couch with Wiley and the kids in a cozy sweater in front of a crackling fire with a hot toddy. Is that seriously too much to ask? California please get it together with the fall weather! As I patiently wait for our first good cold week (should be coming up soon) I have been saying sayonara to the jean cut off shorts and bonjour to the cozy, soft knit sweaters like my two latest additions from Wooden Ships Knits. I’ve talked about this brand before but they are such a wonderful company to support. They are a family-owned and run company that continues to give back to charities while producing ethically made knits with a low carbon footprint. I love how on their site they say they are the “comfort food” within the fashion world as they truly have the most comfortable, softest sweaters.
I adore the slouchy, cozy vibe of this oversized rib boyfriend sweater. I chose the Loden Beat color, which is like a dark moss green – a gorgeous shade for fall. This is the kind of sweater that you basically put on and don’t ever want to take off. Since I’ve been dying to wear it but it’s still quite warm I’ve been pairing it with my black Zara lace miniskirt (it’s from ages ago but I’ve linked a couple other skirts I would totally rock with it as well). I finished the look by adding a pair of Steve Madden black suede booties (I’ve been wearing these SO much lately).
I also wanted something that has that soft, cozy knit vibe but with a bit of a more sophisticated look so I obviously fell in love with their Cuffed Blazer https://www.wooden-ships.com/products/cuffed-blazer. It’s perfect for dressing up or down – casual, office, date night etc., it works for all of them. I paired mine with jeans, booties, a plaid scarf and a hat for a cute fall day look – which I got so many compliments on!
In addition to those pieces a couple others on their site caught my eye:
The Giselle Top in Gunmetal (have this and LOVE it)
